Mark Horton

The Executive

At 24 Mark Horton held the position of state manager of New South Wales for the Campbells Soup company. Upon turning 27 he was appointed Australasian Group Sales Director for the Campbell Soup Company. By the age of 30 he was General Manager of Campbell Foods New Zealand and Strategic Sales Director for Campbell's Asia Pacific where he played a pivotal role in the Campbell Soup Co / Arnott's Limited merger. He has an immense understanding of the complex challenges associated with restructuring an organisation and the intricacies of disseminating the communications of any such change for those people most affected.

Crisis Creates Character

Mark's corporate success has been achieved in a world of personal adversities. At 24, Mark was diagnosed as having insulin-dependent diabetes. Three years later and just weeks after his appointment to head of sales for Campbell's Australasia, Mark was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS is a disease that causes progressive deterioration of the central nervous system). This life changing combination has required Mark to adopt significant changes both personally and professionally.

The Philanthropist

Serving three years as a director for the national body of Multiple Sclerosis, MS Australia and a former Vice President for the Paraplegic & Quadriplegic Association of New South Wales Australia (ParaQuad), Mark was able to apply his corporate knowledge and leadership which was integral to both these not-for-profit organisations. His stewardship ensured bringing about much needed change that aligned these vital community services with commercial corporate citizenship appeal, and a triple bottom line.

Walking the Talk

Mark's approach to his work and how he manages the dynamics of living with multiple sclerosis and diabetes while fulfilling his hectic commitments as a speaker, author and performance coach will astound you. Mark is a man who walks his talk.

Inspirational Speaker & Performance Coach

Mark has inspired delegates from the podium, including Australia, Austria, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, New Zealand and the United States. In light of his contribution to inspiring others, Mark was appointed an Australia Day Ambassador for the New South Wales Australia Day Council. His work has been published in leading journals, including the Sydney Morning Herald, The Melbourne Age and the Canberra Times. He has featured on commercial Pay TV Open Learning programs for Deakin University and on a number of occasions Mark has appeared on Channel Nine's Today Show. The Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Lever Rexona, Master Builders Association, Qantas Airways and the Real Estate Institute of Australia are just a few of the clients Mark has established as a professional speaker and performance coach.
